I love the decorations
That color Christmas nights,
The reds, golds, silvers and blues,
The ornaments and lights.
I love the jubilations
That spread the Christmas joy,
The bright twinkles in the eyes
Of every girl and boy.
I love the celebrations
With poems and Christmas songs,
Expeditions for the gifts
Amidst the shopping throngs.
I love the observations
Of the Christmas story,
Of the shepherds and wise men,
And the angel’s glory.
I love the explanations
That tell what Christmas means,
The festive get-togethers;
I love the manger scenes.
But when I think of Christmas,
Saint Nick and silent night,
I admit above it all
Grandma does Christmas right.
