When I think of Christmas and the spirit thereof,
I think of the aroma drifting throughout
the house from Mom's cooking,
exchanging gifts and joy in children's faces
at the thought of Santa, snow and school's
winter break, every student's delight.
When I think of Christmas and the spirit thereof,
of years gone by begin to flood my mind.
I recall the colorful decorations, the busy shoppers,
the sound of jingle bells and carolers singing
Silent Night.
When I think of Christmas and the spirit thereof,
I think of love. People seem to care so much more,
they are less selfish and more willing to give;
goodwill abounds everywhere throughout the land,
and it feels so right!"
When I think of Christmas and the spirit thereof,
I think of the most sacrificial act of love
and display of goodwill to man of all time;
of how God loved the world so much that He gave
His son on the very first Christmas night.
